How long does bankruptcy information stay on my credit report?
For Chapter 7, it stays on for 10 years. For Chapter 13 it stays on for seven years from the date of the discharge. It can stay on for quite some time but credit usually can be repaired in the first two years. The last 18 months of someone's credit history is the most important. Don't feel that you wont get credit during those 7-10 years. Most of our clients do get plenty of credit. SPA loans are relatively difficult to get but credit cards, mortgages, you name it. Our clients usually are able to obtain it.
