May I use Chapter 7 bankruptcy to get rid of all my debts?
You may possibly be able to use Chapter 7 bankruptcy to get rid of all of your debts. General unsecured debts, which are debts that don't have any collateral attached to them, are usually dischargeable in bankruptcy. But there are some exceptions such as, student loans, child support, most IRS obligations, are not dischargeable in bankruptcy. But for the most part, major debts such as credit cards, medical bills and so forth can be discharged.
